Welcome to today’s blog for Altenew blog hop named Secret Card Recipe.
You are probably coming from the blog of very talented crafter Irene Mejia, if not, you can find her blog here.
My secret or not-so-secret card recipe is a shaker card. Usually, when I have no idea what to do I make a shaker card. These moving sequins inside are always very interesting elements.
For more interest in this card, I used a Mandala die and cut it out of white paper.
All those small parts which have to be punched out my grandma did. She is 80 years old and on a good way to dementia. She cannot do as much stuff as she was when she was young, but she still wants to feel useful. Punching these parts out gives her that feeling and also calms her mind.
I also cut out a white frame to glue on the mandala, on the bottom I glue foil and foam for dimension. Inside I use gold and white sequins. Then I add some roses from the stamp set called Cartoon Rose, a few leaves, and a stripe saying hello. And the card was finished.
